Seller Description

This 2001 BMW M Roadster is finished in Estoril Blue Metallic over black Nappa leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is equipped with a black convertible soft top, 17″ Style 40 wheels, quad exhaust outlets, heated seats, air conditioning, cruise control, a BMW Business CD stereo, and a Harman-Kardon sound system. The seller acquired the car in June 2020 and has since replaced the serpentine belt, tensioner pulleys, spark plugs, air filter, and fluids. This M Roadster is now offered with the owner’s manual, recent service records, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The roadster is finished in Estoril Blue Metallic (335) and features a black convertible soft top. Additional equipment includes painted mirror caps, M-logo front fender vents, roll hoops, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller notes that the rear bumper was repainted during current ownership to address scratches. The seller has provided videos showcasing the convertible top opening and closing.

The staggered-width 17″ Style 40 wheels were refinished in Shadow Chrome in 2020 and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires measuring 225/45 up front and 255/40 out back.

The seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior amenities include heated seats, air conditioning, cruise control, a BMW Business CD stereo, and a Harman-Kardon sound system. The seller notes that the passenger-side power-adjustable mirror does not work, the volume knob does not function properly, and the passenger-side window regulator should be replaced. The sound system is showcased in a video from the seller.

The M-Sport leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 170-mph speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 98k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller. A potential odometer rollback is listed on the Carfax report in October 2006.

The 3.2-liter inline-six was reportedly serviced during current ownership with the replacement of the serpentine belt, tensioner pulleys, air filter, and spark plugs, as well as engine oil, transmission fluid, and differential fluid changes. A start-up and engine-revving clip is provided by the seller. A Blackstone Laboratories oil analysis report from June 2020 can be viewed in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.

The owner’s manual, factory literature, and recent service records are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists the aforementioned potential odometer rollback as well as history in Texas, Oregon, and North Carolina through its most recent entry in September 2019.

I don't think we've seen this roadster on the open market before. It's had some recent service, but the dark bumper lights cheapen the look quite a bit. The primary photo also has the hood unlatched which doesn't help. Bidding up to $8,500.00 so far.
