Seller Description

This 1999 BMW M Roadster is one of 176 examples finished in Evergreen over matching two-tone leather, and it is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Factory equipment includes a color-matched removable hardtop, a black soft top, 17″ M Roadstar wheels, heated sport seats, and cruise control, while modifications include a Remus cat-back exhaust, Bilstein shocks, and a UUC short shifter. The car resided with two owners in Florida prior to its acquisition by the seller on BaT in December 2017, and recent service includes replacing the rear brake rotors and the center console panel. This M Roadster shows 109k miles and is offered with removed factory parts and spares, a hardtop stand, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Evergreen (358) with a power-operated black convertible top. Exterior features include fender vents, black grille surrounds, flared wheel arches, and polished exhaust finishers. The seller states that the vinyl rear window was replaced under previous ownership, and the driver-side front fender has been repainted above the rocker panel. A ding can be seen on the driver door, and scratches on the hood are highlighted in the gallery below. A color-matched removable hardtop, cover, and stand are included in the sale, and a video showing the operation of the convertible roof can be seen here.

The 17″ M Roadstar wheels are mounted with staggered-width Falken Ziex ZE912 tires. The suspension has been modified with Bilstein shocks, a front strut tower brace, and Rogue rear shock mounts. The wheels exhibit a flaking finish and show curb rash. Service under current ownership reportedly includes replacement of the rear tires, rear brake rotors, and emergency brake pads.

The cabin features black and Evergreen Nappa leather upholstery on the heated seats along with a matching dashboard, center console, and door panels. The seat bushings have been replaced, and a UUC short-shift kit has been installed. Additional equipment includes cruise control, a lockable glovebox, power accessories, and a BMW Business CD stereo that shows worn buttons. The seller states that the temperature control knob does not rotate and the air conditioning does not blow cold. The center console panel has been replaced, and the parking brake lever was repaired in January 2020.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Auxiliary gauges are housed in the center stack. The digital odometer shows 109k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six features an aftermarket air filter and was factory-rated at 240 horsepower. A video showing engine start-up can be seen here, and recent service includes an oil change. The seller states that the cooling system is due for an overhaul.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The driveshaft flex disc was reportedly replaced under current ownership, and modifications include a Remus cat-back exhaust system, a rear subframe reinforcement kit, and polyurethane subframe bushings. The seller notes corrosion on the exhaust pipes.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists ownership history in Florida and Texas since new.

Sold to a high bid of $15,750 or $16,537.50 with buyer fee. Wow! I think that's a record for a 100k+ mile S52.

As mentioned in the listing, we last saw this roadster on Bring a Trailer in 2017. The big highlights are the hard top and rear subframe reinforcement. Bidding up to $5,000.00 so far.
