Seller Description

This 1998 BMW M Roadster is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in silver over dark gray and black Nappa leather. Equipment includes silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black convertible soft top, an Alpine CD stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. The selling dealer acquired the car in 2022, and work completed since is said to have included various fluid changes, repacking the front wheel bearings, and replacing the fuel filter and front brake pads and rotors. This M Roadster has 70k miles and is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with the owner’s manual, accessories, and a clean Massachusetts title.

The selling dealer states that the car was repainted in its current shade of silver to address imperfections in the finish. Features include a power-operated black convertible soft top, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets. The Carfax report shows an accident entry from September 2000 and a damage report after an accident or other incident in August 2001, and no additional information is provided in either instance.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back. Bilstein dampers are fitted up front and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The selling dealer states that the front wheel bearings were repacked and the front brake pads and rotors were replaced in 2022.

The cabin features dark gray and black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, an Alpine CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 70k miles.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Work completed in 2022 reportedly included an oil change and replacing the fuel filter.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the fluids for which were both reportedly changed in 2022.

Manufacturer’s literature and accessories are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned 2000 and 2001 accident and damage entries and lists registration history in New York and Massachusetts through its most recent entry in August 2017.

No photos yet, but the VIN shows it is artic silver over dark gray. The price seems ok for the mileage.
