Seller Description

New member here in Southlake, Texas (Dallas suburb). Thanks for having me. Preview of 1999 BWM Z3 M Roadster that will be for sale in mid to late July. I’m the original owner. Purchased in December 1998. Garage kept. Never tracked. Uncommon and cool Evergreen/black color scheme inside and out. 106,xxx mostly highway miles. Link to video review below. Note that I likely won’t be showing the car until mid-to-late July.

Work done on the M Roadster in the last two months:

  1. Replaced cracked windshield with OEM glass windshield (done at BMW dealership)
  2. Replaced opaque and cracked rear plastic window (BMW dealership)
  3. Replaced shrunken rubber convertible seal (BMW dealership)
  4. Replaced rear antenna and base assembly (BMW dealership)
  5. Replaced center BMW wheel caps (BMW dealership)
  6. Replaced faded rear trunk BMW emblem (BMW dealership)
  7. Replaced AC recirculating-air button, which would not stay in when pressed (BMW dealership)
  8. Replaced green console trim piece that was cracked by recirculating air button (BMW dealership)
  9. Replaced seat rail bump stops on the left and right seats, which previously had a little bit of front-to-back play due to the notoriously common breakdown of the rubber bushings (BMW dealership)
  10. Replaced stoplight brake switch (done at my trusty local mechanic shop)
  11. Replaced manual transmission shift shaft seal (slow ooze/leak) (local mechanic shop)
  12. Replaced drive axle pinion seal gasket (slow ooze/leak) (local mechanic shop)
  13. Replaced power steering line, power steering pressure hose, and power steering reservoir hose, which all had a little bit of ooze
  14. Replaced oil pan gasket
  15. Replaced engine mounts, which were decent but there were labor savings having them replaced when they did the oil-pan gasket
  16. Soon will be replacing the factory radio/cassette unit because the volume button spins but does not control the volume; I purchased a period-appropriate-looking Continental bluetooth radio with orange backlights (similar to the original), which will go in soon unless my attempt to clean the volume button post with contact cleaner fixes it. I will save the original radio if the new owner wants to fix the volume button.

The only other mechanical issue to note is that the power feature that raises and lowers the convertible top does not work. But the top raises and lowers easily by hand. I’ll leave it to the next owner to decide whether a fix is worth pursuing.

The work put into the car to get it ready for sale is reflected in the $22,000 sale price. Carfax available.

Final note: I have a busy day job and may not be able to respond to questions as quickly as you’d like, but I’ll do my best to get back to you within a reasonable time. Many thanks.

It's a great color combo and has had a ton of maintenance which is nice. It also has a good one-owner history. Do note that it's not officially available for a couple more week. The price is over market value for the mileage, but I could see it being worth it for the right buyer.
