2000 BMW M Roadster, 108,500 miles, S52 3.0L inline 6, 5-speed manual.
Built for the 2000 model year, this M Roadster is 1 of just 71 finished in Alpine White over black Nappa. It’s a stock, driver-quality example with a well-documented life and a little patina from being enjoyed the way BMW intended.
Originally delivered in South Carolina, it moved to New Mexico, then Colorado, and finally home to Minnesota with a BMW enthusiast. In Colorado it met an unlucky raccoon; Glen Shelly Automotive repaired it correctly with new right front control arm, spindle, tie rod, fender liner, wheel/tire, and a refinished front bumper and right front fender. At the same time they refreshed a long list of age items: battery, hazard switch, mirror mount, shift knob, both seat-belt receptacles, plus a new convertible top and rear window. More preventative care followed, cooling system, valve cover gasket, VANOS seals, guibo, shift-selector seal, brakes, reinforced glovebox, seat bushings, rear shocks/mounts, and a solid-state auto-dimming mirror. Receipts total over $10k and come with the car. Carfax notes minor damage (4/2022) with repairs completed (3/2023). Trunk floor spot welds are healthy; one is just beginning to sink (cracked paint, no separation).
Cosmetically, Alpine White still pops. There are a few honest dings (hood, driver-side quarter, faint crease on passenger door), no clear-coat failure, no rust, and all VIN tags are present. The top is tear-free, the rear window is clear, and the lenses show typical light haze. The original Style 40 Roadsters wheels have some oxidation and rash (worst right rear) and wear Continental ExtremeContact tires.
Inside, the carpets are clean with M mats, the dash is crack-free, and the seats show normal bolster wear on the driver’s side. Seat bushings were replaced (no rocking); all motors and heaters work. The passenger seat-belt guide is cracked but functional. All gauges, audio, windows, locks, cruise, heat/AC, and the power top work; the toolkit is complete.
Mechanically it’s sorted. The S52 idles smoothly, pulls strong (VANOS serviced), the clutch and shifter are crisp with no 5th-gear lean, brakes are firm, and the suspension feels tight. It’s an honest, well-kept M Roadster ready to drive now and continue its story with the next owner.
