!!-Please read the entire ad-!! I have tried to include everything in the ad. I can show the car from 9am-7pm any day of the week.
$8,000 or best offer. Car is located in San Diego.
ABOUT ME: I am the owner of Big Fish Motorsports and have been building, restoring, and racing BMW's for 12 years. I take pride in what I do and will not BS you about this car.
This was a customer's daily driven and well maintained car so I fixed what needed to be fixed in order for it to be safe, reliable and SMOG compliant.
ABOUT THE CAR: 2000 BMW M Roadster, with manual 5-speed transmission. Only 2 previous owners.
Clean title, registration is good through November 2017 and I will be getting it smogged in the next day or 2.
It is in EXCELLENT mechanical condition.
I feel the car is priced fairly considering its condition, mileage, and the current market for these cars. I believe it to be a $10,000 car, but their are some minor flaws in the paint finish and interior as well as a few other things outlined below... so I reduced the price to compensate. I did not fix some of the non essential things because I didn't want to have to raise the price too high.
The convertible top fabric and window were recently replace and still look new.
Runs amazingly well and pulls really hard with no engine error codes, no electronic issues, no warning lights on and no cooling system issues.
Has a Dinan CARB approved tune with sticker on the data port.
Passed smog easily.
Engine, transmission, driveshaft, axles and diff all spin smooth and with no noise or shakes on the freeway.
Clutch engagement is perfect
Engine oil always changed with high quality high-quality full synthetic oil every 5,000 miles.
Has a Fresh battery.
Brakes still have plenty of life and rotors were just resurfaced so braking is smooth, solid and controlled
Tires are Pilot Sports and have about half the tread left. Super sticky tires!
Interior is in great condition
The Wheels are in excellent condition with only minor blemishes
Suspension rubber is still in good shape
Shocks are Bilstein Sports paired with H&R Sport Springs
Steering is VERY tight.
AC is ice cold.
The whole car was just detailed inside and out with new badges and brand new OEM M-Sport floor mats
Overall, its a SUPER smooth REALLY fun and fast driving car. Handles like a slot car!
The rear differential mounting area of the chassis has been welded and reinforced; this is a known weak spot on these cars.
THE BAD: As with any older BMW there are a few spots that are starting to lightly seep oil, but nothing I would call a leak; this is totally normal for old German cars.
The power roof function has been disabled, but its super easy to do by hand.
The cv boots on the axles need to be replaced. I will include the parts, but if you want me to install them, we will have to discuss that when we make a deal.
That's it. Mechanically speaking, its in amazing shape; especially for its age and mileage!
The CD player skips on even the lightest bumps. (Its old and should be replaced anyway. The speakers are all stock with the stock sub-woofer and it sounds great.)
There is a bit of wear and tear on the interior but nothing really ugly aside from the leather on the steering wheel
There are some light dents and scratches, some of which have been touched up and it appears that the bumpers were repainted or at least the clear coat was redone. They looks ok, but not perfect.
I think thats about it. This is the lowest priced M Roadster anywhere in Socal. Don't be fooled by the mileage. Its an amazing car at an amazing price and perfect for a BMW enthusiast.
e-mail me to schedule a time to come look at the car. I can run the scanner and even put it up on the lift for you to check out and show that there are no surprises with this one.
