Seller Description

This 2001 BMW M Roadster is one of 78 total finished in Laguna Seca Blue and 1,565 built with a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six and a five-speed manual transmission for the North American market. The car was purchased by the seller from Pleasanton, California in 2003, and has since been driven 9k of its 10k miles. Modifications include BBS wheels, carbon fiber interior trim, and a K&N air filter. This M Roadster is offered with owner’s books, a battery tender, a scale model, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Exterior details include clear corner and side marker lenses as well as paired dual exhaust tips. The seller notes a ding on the left front fender in addition to hazing and separation in the vinyl backlight. The black convertible roof is shown stowed in gallery photographs below, and a folding wind deflector fits over the dual roll hoops. BBS 18″ wheels were installed under current ownership and wear Bridgestone Potenza tires with 2002 date codes.

Gray and black Nappa leather covers the dash, center stack, door panels, and heated manually-adjustable sport seats. Carbon fiber handles have been fitted to the shifter and handbrake lever, and AC Schnitzer pedals replace the factory versions. Tri-color Motorsport logos are featured on the door sill plates and black floor mats.

Amenities include cruise control, power windows and locks, Harman Kardon audio, and an in-dash CD player. Instruments feature gray faces and Motorsport logos, and include a trio of auxiliary gauges in the center stack as well as a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline and a 160-mph speedometer. The digital odometer shows just under 10k miles, 9k of which have been driven during the seller’s 17 years of ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six is equipped with VANOS continuously-variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust sides, and induction is via individual throttle bodies. Output was rated at 315 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque when new. A K&N air filter has been fitted. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

Owner’s books, a factory Mobility Kit, a car cover, and various other accessories and BMW memorabilia are included in the sale.

The Carfax report indicates an accident-free history with two owners in California.

Awesome color combo and very low miles. It has a few more modifications than some purists may want but the condition looks good. Bidding up to $22,000.00 so far.
