This 1997 BMW M Roadster is a German-market example that was imported to the US from Germany under prior ownership, and it was relocated to Canada before it was acquired by the selling dealer in October 2022. Power is provided by a 3.2-liter S50 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and the car is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over blue and black Nappa leather upholstery. The car is also equipped with 17″ Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black convertible soft top, a cassette stereo with a CD changer, air conditioning, and cruise control. Service in preparation for the sale included replacing the battery, driveshaft flex joint, and brake light switch as well as an oil change. This Euro M Roadster is now offered by the selling dealer in Canada with a service record, a clean Carfax report, and Ontario registration.
The car is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic (309) with a black convertible soft top, and details consist of front fender vents, ellipsoid low-beam headlights, headlight washers, clear front turn indicators and parking lights, and quad exhaust outlets. Blemishes are visible on the front bumper cover and right-front fender, and the painted pinstriping is faded in spots. Photos of paint meter readings and close-ups are provided in the gallery below. The brake light switch was replaced in preparation for the sale.
17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with General G-MAX AS05 tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/40 out back. Braking is handled by two-piece ventilated discs up front and single-piece ventilated discs in the rear with red-finished calipers at all four corners.
Estoril Blue and black Nappa leather covers the heated sport seats, door panels, and center console. Equipment includes roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, and a cassette stereo with a trunk-mounted CD changer.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and an M logo, and it frames a replacement 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,400-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Additional instrumentation located in the center stack includes an analog clock and gauges for outside temperature and oil temperature. The digital odometer indicates 18k miles.
The European-specification 3.2-liter S50B32 inline-six is equipped with individual throttle bodies and a higher compression ratio than the North American variant, and factory-rated output was 315 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed and the battery was replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The driveshaft flex joint was replaced in preparation for the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists the import from Germany in February 1998 as well as history in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, British Columbia, and Ontario.
