Seller Description

This 2001 BMW Z3 M Roadster is one of BMW M's most charismatic modern classics, combining a high-revving naturally aspirated inline-six, rear-wheel-drive dynamics, and open-top driving into a package that has become increasingly sought after by enthusiasts and collectors alike. Finished in stunning Imola Red II over a rare Imola Red and Black Two-Tone Nappa Leather interior, this M Roadster is a striking example of one of BMW's most engaging driver's cars.

Under the hood lies BMW's legendary 3.2L S54 inline-six engine, producing 315 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. Shared with the revered E46 M3, the S54 is celebrated for its razor-sharp throttle response, thrilling 8,000 RPM redline, and unmistakable exhaust note. Paired exclusively with a 5-speed manual transmission, the Z3 M Roadster delivers an engaging analog driving experience that has become increasingly rare in today's automotive landscape.

The long hood, short rear deck, and muscular rear fenders give the M Roadster unmistakable proportions, while its near 50/50 weight distribution and M-tuned suspension create a driving experience that is equally rewarding on winding back roads and weekend cruises. The 2001 model year is particularly significant as it marked the introduction of the legendary S54 engine to the Z3 M Roadster, making it one of the most desirable and collectible variants ever produced. With relatively limited production numbers and a growing appreciation among enthusiasts, the S54-powered M Roadster has firmly established itself as a modern BMW icon.

Finished in the iconic combination of Imola Red II over matching Imola Red and Black Two-Tone Nappa Leather, this Z3 M Roadster offers an unforgettable blend of classic roadster styling, motorsport-inspired performance, and analog driving excitement. It is a true enthusiast's car that continues to deliver one of the purest driving experiences BMW M has ever created.

Reserve not met at $59,000 which is crazy. They should have taken the money and ran.

I was right, it's now up for auction on Cars & Bids. Bidding is at $9,000 but I doubt it will get too close to the original asking price.

It's about the most expensive M Roadster I've ever seen. It is a super low mileage S54 though. It looks to be all stock and pretty immaculate.
