This 2000 BMW M Roadster was driven in New Jersey and New York by the first owner before being relocated to North Carolina in 2011, and down to New Orleans this summer when we bought it from our parents. Power comes from an unmodified S52 inline-six mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. A Dinan subframe reinforcement kit and Bilstein shocks were installed in 2014, and the radiator, expansion tank, thermostat, water pump, and fluids were replaced in 2017. Records from current ownership are included along with a matching hardtop with stand, the factory manuals, and a tool kit. Now showing just over 56k miles, this E36/7 is being offered with a clean Carfax and a clean Alaska title in hand.
A repaint in the factory Estoril Blue Metallic (335) was commissioned in 2011 to correct flaws on some body panels, as the car was reportedly stored outside under original ownership. The hardtop from a Boston Green car was sourced and repainted to match. A small crack is present on the front air dam, and the hardtop has some minor chips at its base from the included stand.
The black soft top was replaced in 2011, and new Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3 tires were fitted to the stock 17″ Roadstar alloys in May 2014.
The interior was also refurbished in 2011 with the stock seats being recovered in full black leather. M accouterments include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated shift knob floor mats, and door sills.
An Alpine head unit was added by the current owner. In April 2017 the glove box was reinforced, and the rear view mirror, HVAC control panel, and a trim piece were replaced. The digital odometer shows 56,490 miles.
The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and produced 240 horsepower from the factory. A Dinan subframe reinforcement kit has been installed, and new Bilstein struts and shocks were fitted in July 2014. The car was last serviced in April 2017 with replacement of the radiator, expansion tank, thermostat, thermostat housing, and water pump. Other work performed at that time included changing the transmission and differential oil using Redline products, flushing the brake fluid, and recharging the A/C system.
Records from current ownership date back to 2011 and show the car was serviced regularly by Korman Autoworks in Greensboro, North Carolina.
A clean Carfax documents mileage with 24 odometer readings from July 1999 to April 2017. The original owner’s manuals and tool kit are included along with a wheeled stand and cover for the hardtop.
Hesitantly selling as we will have a new driver in the family soon, and unfortunately this isn't a practical first car ;)
Have listed locally as well - so auction may close early.
Please ask any questions - thanks!
