Seller Description

I have a 1999 BMW M roadster for sale.

Mileage on chassis 346,xxx
Mileage on Drivetrain 150,xxx

It is not a typo, the vehicle does have 346,xxx miles on the chassis. But most of the parts on the vehicle has been replaced. The engine was replaced with a salvaged 98 e36 m3 S52 unit with 150,xxx on the clock. (VIN # on the engine block can verify the mileage of the motor) When the engine was out of the e36 my mechanic suggested that I replaced the headgasket, water pump, and belt. Which I took his suggestion and have done so.

For the suspension department the rear shocks have been replaced with bilstein units when the rear subframe was welded for reinforcement. (Z3 are notorious for rear subframe failure, but it was prevented by taking this step.)

The interior is about 7/10
The last owner plastidip all the blue interior into black, it is not bad at all actually.
It will come Bride rep on Planted seat bracket for the driver side and momo monte carlo 320mm steering wheel.
(stock seat and stock steering wheel will come with purchase)

The exterior is about 7/10 also
There is various paint chips on the hood and front bumper
Front bumper also has cracks on the lower splitter areas.
The softtop is in really rough condition. There is cut on the passenger side about 8 inch long which is patched (shown in pic) and the rear plastic window is yellow so the last owner blacked it out. No water leakage.
There is not a single dent on the vehicle. There is about 4 small dings around the whole car. Which you really can't see unless you know where to look for it.

Mods:
The vehicle is basically stock
It does have a custom muffler which is pretty loud but looks stock (will come with stock exhaust)
When i purchased the vehicle it did not pass smog due to a bad engine and a bad cat. I purchased a used cat and the one that was on the vehicle I gutted and made a straight pipe. (will come with the cat for buyer for smog purpose)

Stock wheels with brand new tires up front

To sum everything up. I bought the vehicle in a very rough condition for $4900. Spend about $3500 on fixing it up to what it is right now. Want something bigger for a growing family. I'm trying to be as honest as I can remember.

Asking $6,500 for the vehicle. Will smog for buyer before purchase. The only trade I will consider is something 4 seat, manual, and somewhat fun to drive (prefer wrx). (so no trucks, or suv please) I will not put any cash on top. Either it will be a straight trade or cash on your end.

I believe the price is reasonable. Yes there is a lot of flaws with the vehicle, but it runs great (super fast) and not bad to the eyes. If you want a perfect Z3 M Roadster the cheapest I've seen on cl was around $14,000. So this is less then half the price and still a full functioning reliable vehicle.

You can contact me at  if interested. txt and call are both fine.
Email is okay also but no dumb question or dumb comments please. The vehicle does carry a clean title

No joyride. test drive for serious buyer with cash in hand

Thanks for looking have a wonderful day! :D

Previous Listing:
Hi CL I have a 1999 BMW Z3 M roadster. This vehicle is basically a E36 M3 in a 2 seater fun roadster. The vehicle has 347,xxx miles. The previous owner has replace almost every single thing on the car include the engine, transmission, to suspension. There is flaws with the vehicle and is not perfect and the price obviously reflects it.
It runs excellent, pulls hard real hard. And there is not a single ding nor dent on the vehicle. But the paint can be freshen up.

Now here is comes the bad news....
The vehicle does not pass smog. I was told only the o2 sensor was bad and turns out the cat is the cause. I replace the o2 sensor and then failed smog knowing that the cat is gone. I know someone can replace the cat for $700 for both of it (that is labor and parts included) , but you will need to take the exhaust manifold off yourself.

I bought it for $5000 and spent $200 on o2 sensor and $69 on smog. I want $4900 for it firm, the vehicle it is what it is. I'm not going to reduce the price if you find any flaw. The vehicle will be sold as is. I will release it as a track car and non op. New owner will be RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SMOG ITSELF. You can either fix it and have yourself a spiffy sports car or make it a track dedicated car.

Tires have 70% in the rear 40% in the front.
It is also a clean title vehicle! :)

Will entertain any trades. Let me know what you got! Really want a good running straight body nova!

New record for most miles on a Z3M for sale. It doesn't look too bad for the mileage. I'd look awfully close at it before buying though. If everything has been replaced as mentioned the price may be fair. Hard to say though.
