Seller Description

This 1998 BMW M Roadster is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six that was fitted with an Active Autowerk twin-screw supercharger with a water-to-air intercooler in 2011. Further modifications performed at that time involved the addition of a Rogue Engineering twin-ear finned differential cover, a Mason Engineering front strut tower brace, Eibach lowering springs, a Zionsville aluminum radiator, and a Strömung cat-back exhaust system. Modifications were fitted by Randy Forbes. Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over black Nappa leather, the car was acquired by the seller in 2022 and now has 55k miles. Factory equipment includes a black convertible soft top, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, heated sport seats, silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels, a five-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential. This modified M Roadster is now offered with a car cover, a wind deflector, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

This M Roadster is one of 742 finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year. Features include front fender vents, a fixed rear antenna, and a power-operated black convertible soft top. The seller notes a chip in the windshield.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 225/45 up front 245/40 out back. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with cross-drilled rotors and braided stainless-steel hoses. The car rides on replacement Sachs dampers with Eibach lowering springs.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, and roll hoops. The stereo is said to have been fitted with a GROM Bluetooth module.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Auxiliary gauges for boost pressure, voltage, and oil temperature are mounted in the center stack. The digital odometer indicates 55k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and is fitted with an Active Autowerk twin-screw supercharger with a water-to-air intercooler. A Mason Engineering strut tower brace spans the engine bay, and the Zionsville aluminum radiator is equipped with a SPAL electric pusher fan. A Stewart high-capacity water pump is also said to be installed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The underbody has been modified to accept a Rogue Engineering twin-ear finned differential cover, and the car is equipped with a Strömung cat-back exhaust system. The shift pins, clutch assembly, and driveshaft guibo have reportedly been replaced.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in New York State.

The listing was removed before I grabbed the price, but it's an interesting  enough car I wanted to note the sale. We last saw it this past October, and it's full of amazing upgrades like a twin-screw supercharger. It doesn't appear to still have the hard top though.
