History:
California clean unbranded title with a rebuilt status on Carfax from accident in Oklahoma in 2013.
Under a previous owner the car was hit in right rear quarter with some damage to rear trunk floor., rear 1/4, taillight and trunk lid, a new rear quarter panel and used trunk was installed and the car was completely repainted its original Imola red. The car was totaled by insurance at the time as it was at its absolute rock bottom of depreciation. You can only tell if you pull the trunk carpet and by some primer visible by the trunk hinges as seen in pics and black paint instead of Imola under trunk carpet.

My friend in St Louis bought it after it was fixed from a dealer and shipped it to Missouri where it held a rebuilt MO title. He did a crazy weathered looking racecar wrap as an ad for their wrap/ tint/detail/coating business and drove it several years parking it indoors at his expansive shop amongst the exotic cars he worked on.

Under his ownership:
Ceramic tint all around
Alpine Headunit with Bluetooth
Blacked out m badges on fenders
Staggered 19” Arc 8 wheels 8.5 f and 10 r in gloss black. Excellent fitment and no rubbing
angel eye headlights
Led projectors
lowering springs
Bilstein Suspension
Brake calipers painted Imola`
Smoked red taillights
OEM hardtop
Front wheel Bearings
New OE Clutch

When it came time to sell I was offered first right of refusal as I had appreciated it for several years having owned several BMW’s and being a BMWCCA member. Me and a friend flew out to St Louis and had an epic adventure taking backroads home visiting friends along the way and the car didn’t skip a beat.

Upon arriving in San Diego in 2021 the car was unwrapped and received the following sorting:
Painted oe hardtop Imola to color match the car
Dinan Swaybars
New swaybar bushings
New Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 275r19 rear and 245r19 front
New Rear Window in convertible top
Supersprint Catback Exhaust
New brake rotors and pads

Also have stock Exhaust, Swaybars, chrome grill, center console, extra mirrors, original radio

The headliner in the hardtop is pieces of foam backed black alcantara glued in. The hardtop includes the special oe tool to release the latches. OE soft top rear window cover in its bag in trunk, full toolkit in trunk.

The car drives, looks and operates fantastic and with lower mileage than most but priced in line with higher mileage examples without all the extras, hardtop or sorting that this car has due to Carfax history. If you are looking for a highly original example to take to concours or as a garage queen investment look elsewhere and pony up another $10k. As a 24 year old car from bmw’s golden age it draws compliments everywhere it goes and one drive will have it immediately apparent this is a truly enjoyable analog drivers car well deserving of the //M. It has one small upwards dent in the hood that needs PDR, a missing M badge on the the side vent, light out in a gauge on the center console and anotehr in the 3rd brakelight and the clock spring in the steering wheel has a squeak. It’s suited for daily driving, backroads, autocross, cross country or track use, growing family needs meant upsizing to an X5 35D Msport.

I also have far more pictures and videos of the car including walkarounds, exhaust, driving, hardtop removal and powered soft top operation that I don’t have room to post here. Maintenance records etc. Pictures of CA title. So for serious buyers I’m happy to discuss the car in greater detail nothing to hide, just looking for a new steward to enjoy. It’s sorted and turnkey ready for a new owner to enjoy or fly and drive.

OEM Roadstar Wheels are in excellent shape and original shadow chrome finish. Full staggered sets of these wheels in the correct original shadow chrome sell between $2,000-2500

Priced at $17,500 with Original Roadstar Wheels, Arc 8 Wheels and Hardtop.

$16,000 As it sits on Arc 8 wheels with Hardtop

Open to reasonable discussion of value for a serious buyer. Please keep in mind z3 hardtops regularly change hands between $2-4K (plus color matching) and most cars you may be comparing on price don’t include one nor all the other suspension, exhaust, wheel, tire, recent service etc.

Clean CA title in hand with two keys, no trades. Cash or bank transfer.

It's on the other side of the country since we last saw it in 2017. Since then it has picked up the hard top, Apex wheels, Supersprint exhaust, and quite a bit of maintenance. It seems like it would make a great driver with a known history. The price seems fair even with the rebuilt history.
