Seller Description

2000 BMW Z3M - M RoadsterBeautiful example in Dakar yellow with black top/interior.  This car has the Dinan intake, throttle body, and tune installed.  I purchased this car in December of last year, as I've been working remote, and just needed something to scoot around in.  Things change, and now I need to go back to the office... so I'm sticking with my daily, and this one needs a new home. My goal for this car was to maintain a stock appearance, but increase the performance and reliability wherever I could.  The bullet-proof S52 looks and sounds great, so I focused on suspension and chassis rigidity.  Brakes looked and felt fine, but the rear rotors were toast... so those were replaced.  While I opted to maintain the stock ride height, I wanted the option to go lower at some point, and have the ability to correct the alignment, so I added the adjustment kit while the rear end was out of the car... along with the subframe, swaybar, and shock mount reinforcements for peace of mind.  Upon further investigation, it seems the Z3s had a bit of a design flaw with the way the differential is mounted to the trunk floor.  If you're not already familiar, Google "Randy Forbes BMW" for the sorted tales of spot welds being ripped apart by excessive torque events.  While the spot welds on this car all looked good, I wanted that issue resolved before anything tried to pretzel... so more preventative maintenance and peace of mind. The following work has been done within the past 6 months:  (receipts included) New Bilstein B6 dampers including reinforced top hats and shock mounts New StopTech stainless steel brake lines New Kumho tires New Stromung exhaust New PowerFlex urethane LCAB's New Ireland Engineering rear subframe bushings New trailing arm bushings New rear wheel bearings New rear brake rotors New Ireland Engineering rear camber/toe adjustment kit New Ireland Engineering rear subframe/trailing arm reinforcement kit New Racing Dynamics front strut tower bar Randy Forbes dual ear reinforcement kit with M3 diff cover New rear differential mount bushings All new fluids (except coolant) - including brake fluid, oil, trans & diff Alignment If I were to keep it, here's what I'd do next: Cooling system:  this is why I didn't change the coolant, as it was next on the list.  There's nothing alarming with it, but I don't have any record of if/when that stuff was replaced, and bad things happen when it fails.  So I would just replace the rad with a Mishimoto aluminum unit, mechanical fan with a Spal, and water pump with a Stewart unit.  Plus the "while you're in there" stuff... belt, hoses, thermostat, et al. Stereo:  I did replace the speakers in the lower footwell, and tweeter s in the doors.  Sadly, the wiring isn't connected on the footwell speakers, and I didn't really want to get into that project.  It has a decent Alpine deck, and the two speakers behind the seats, along with the tweeters are the only things making noise.  The subwoofer box is empty. Seat Heater:  Driver's side seat heater doesn't work.  Typically this is just a pad inside the seat that you can replace.  Not really cold enough to make that a priority just yet. Glovebox Fix:  Common issue with the Z3.  This one isn't too terrible now, but it will only get worse.  Easy fix. DRIVE IT!  It's a great looking roadster, and it's really hard to find any visual flaws.  Now it drives and handles great.  The Z3M's are getting harder to find, especially in decent shape.  With 6 figures on the clock, its not so precious that you're afraid to drive it... but it's still going to go for another 200k with proper maintenance and treatment.

No expense was spared with all the new parts on this car including new suspension, Stromung exhaust and Randy Forbes kit. That's a lot of work since we last saw it less than 18 months ago. The price seems fair all things considered.
