88,000 original miles. I am a senior car enthusiast, and this car has been a dream fulfilled. My wife and I have used her for weekend country drives and some longer road trips with our friends who also own a Z3M roadster.  Winter stored in heated garage.  She turns heads, is in excellent condition and a blast to drive!  I am selling because our next adventure will be in a cruising sailboat.

This 2000 BMW Z3 M roadster is unique for a couple of reasons, starting with a reportedly full AC Schnitzer package and VF Engineering supercharger system. It also wears an Autoflex spray-on wrap in Laguna Seca Blue, but it is removal and peeling it off would reveal the original Silver paintwork beneath the wrap. “I purchased the car in 2016 and have taken a number of long trips through Canada and the U.S.—the car is a lot of fun and a real head-turner,” says the seller. A Carfax report shows the car was sold originally in New York, but migrated to Ontario about 20 years ago. Its primary speedometer and odometer readouts are in miles per hour.

POWERTRAIN
From the factory, the Z3 M came with a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter “S52” DOHC inline-six engine rated at 240 horsepower. This example has been modified with a VF Engineering supercharger system that uses a Vortech compressor to help push output to around 350 horsepower. It was installed in 2019, when the car had 77,590 miles, says the seller, who notes the engine starts and idles “perfectly,” with no smoke or leaks. Its water pump was also upgraded at the time of the installation, along with a heavier-duty clutch. The five-speed manual gearbox is also said to perform “perfectly.”

EXTERIOR
According to the seller, the original Silver paintwork beneath the Laguna Seca Blue wrap is in mint condition, while the wrap itself reportedly has a few flaws, but shows very well. “The Autoflex coating was not executed perfectly, but the flaws are not really noticeable,” says the seller, who adds the wrap can simply be peeled off to return the car to its original Silver appearance. Additionally, the body is said to be “rust-free” and all the glass is reportedly in “excellent” condition, with the windshield replaced two years ago. The seals are also said to be in good shape, including with the convertible top, which reportedly is in very good shape. All the lights and signals are reportedly in working order and car is fitted with Spider headlights, with the originals included with the car. Other exterior upgrades include a dealer-installed rear spoiler and AC Schnitzer accessories including chrome roll hoops, a Plexiglas wind deflector, 18-inch wheels and exhaust. There’s also a leather boot cover and fabric tonneau cover.

INTERIOR
Inside, the black leather cockpit appears in very good condition, with wear commensurate with the car’s age and mileage. That includes mild wear on the leather seat covers, but no reported holes or tears, and some wear on the outer edge of the steering wheel. The carpet is reportedly in very good shape, with little apparent wear. All the interior trim is said to be intact and in very good original condition. Further, the seller reports all of the power features such as the windows and locks, the gauges and the aftermarket Sony CD audio system are in working order. The same goes for the air conditioning system. “The Harman Kardon speakers sound great,” notes the seller. There are more AC Schnitzer accessories in the interior, too, including the gear shifter, handbrake handle, and pedals.

CHASSIS
The chassis, suspension, and braking elements are reportedly in very good condition, with no noted issues or needs, says the seller. Upgrades include rear subframe and differential mount reinforcements, along with a front strut brace and reinforced rear shock mounts. Additionally, ST adjustable coilovers were reportedly installed in 2019 and braking performance is described as “excellent.” Also in 2019, a set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires was installed on the factory AC Schnitzer wheels. They have approximately 12,000 miles on them and appear to show 2017 DOT date codes. The wheels are said to be in good-appearing condition, but one is noted to have balance issues, causing a “slight vibration” between 60-70 km/h (35-45 mph), according to the seller.

DOCUMENTATION
The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on the proper Ontario, Canada, document in his name for transfer of ownership. Additional documentation for this 2000 BMW Z3 M Roadster includes a Carfax report, receipts for parts and service during the seller’s ownership, and a professional appraisal. Its supercharger offers a force-inducted rush of extra power, while its unique blue wrap provides a distinctive appearance that can be changed back to the original Silver with its removal.

The laguna seca blue wrap already looks pretty good and fairly true to the real paint. The painted door handles look weird though. The AC Schnitzer Type 2 wheels looks great and it also has an ACS exhaust. The price seems fair to me with all the extras.
