Seller Description

Doug's Take

The BMW Z3 M Roadster is a thrilling sports car that boasts muscular styling and a mandatory 5-speed manual transmission. Later Z3 M Roadster models like this example are particularly desirable for their E46 M3-sourced S54 engine – the ultimate evolution of the classic BMW naturally-aspirated straight-6. This M Roadster touts some great factory equipment, including a limited-slip differential, a removable hardtop, and heated sport seats – and it also has almost no modifications. Plus, this M Roadster is offered with a clean, accident-free Carfax report, for added peace of mind.

Highlights

THIS… is a 2001 BMW Z3 M Roadster, finished in Alpine White with a beige soft top and an Oregon Point/Sand Beige interior.

  • This Z3 features a 5-speed manual transmission, and its odometer currently displays approximately 37,600 miles.
  • The attached Carfax vehicle history report shows no accidents or mileage discrepancies.
  • According to the build sheet provided in the gallery, notable factory equipment includes 17-inch Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, heated sport seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, and more as listed below. Notable modifications reported by the selling dealer are limited to aftermarket interior wood trim.
  • The M Roadster debuted in 1998, and took the base Z3 platform to an entirely new level of performance and desirability with M3-sourced straight-6 power, aggressive styling touches, and thoroughly revised suspension and braking systems. Late production cars such as this example are particularly desirable for their high-revving, individual throttle body-equipped, and significantly more powerful S54 powerplants.
  • Power comes from an 3.2-liter straight-6, rated at 315 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission.

This is a rare color combo especially with the beige soft top. It seems like it has a good ownership history, and looks to be mostly stock besides the hard top. The main thing of note is a lot of wood trim. It looks to be a combination of OEM parts like the steering wheel, shift knob, and hand brake and aftermarket for the center console and door panels. Overall it looks ok, but I don't like how they did the door panels. In any case, it looks to be in nice condition. I wish there were more/better photos, but the price seems very fair to me.
