Seller Description

This 2001 BMW M Roadster is one of 66 examples produced with Steel Grey Metallic paint, black Nappa leather upholstery, and a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six. Purchased by the seller in 2013, the car features a five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, a black convertible soft top, 17″ Style 40 wheels, heated sport seats, a BMW Business CD stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, air conditioning, and cruise control. This M Roadster is offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Steel Grey Metallic (400) and features include a replacement power-operated black convertible soft top, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets. A November 2009 entry on the Carfax report lists an accident with another motor vehicle that resulted in damage to the rear of the car. There are dings and scratches around the body, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

Shadow-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels have blemishes and curb marks, and they are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires. The car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control and All-Season Traction (AST), and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, a BMW Business CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The stereo screw cover is missing, the driver’s seat has wear, the passenger seatbelt guide is broken, and the rearview mirror dimming feature does not work.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 170-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 97k miles, approximately 22k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54B32 inline-six features double-VANOS variable valve timing and a Siemens MSS 54 engine management control system. Output was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The catalytic converters were replaced in February 2014, and the transmission detent pins are said to have been replaced in 2025.

The Carfax report lists the aforementioned November 2009 accident.

It has been 12 years since we last saw this steel gray roadster for sale. It had quite a few miles added but still looks good. It's still pretty much stock. Bidding up to $5,000.00 so far.
