I am a BMW collector and Past BMW CCA Chapter President.
After almost twelve years of ownership I am listing for salemy 2000 BMW M Roadster. The car is an usual color combination. The body isAlpine Weiss with an Imola red and black two tone interior with an Imola Redtop and black and red coco mats. I purchase this car as a CPO car with about24,000 miles on the clock. The mileage just passed 103,000 miles yesterday June29th. This car is completely original. No modifications of any kindhave been done to this car and almost all parts were replaced with OEM parts.
I have tried to always maintain this car to the “Old School”maintenance schedule. All of the typical cooling system issues have beenreplaced, thermostat, radiator, hoses and water pump. Oil changes every 4kmiles with Mobil One. Rear end and diff. have had oils replaced with red lineproducts. A/C condenser, drier and compressor were changed two years ago. Newbattery was installed on June 5th. Car has always been a Florida Carand has been garaged there is no rust anywhere. The car shifts perfectly andthe engine has no leaks of any kind and has never burned any oil.
Valve cover gasket was replaced last summer (2013) and Itook pictures of the inside of the engine itself to show how “clean” the enginewas with the valve cover off. Tires have plenty of tread left (70%) and thebrakes, although replaced 4 yrs. ago only have about 4,000 miles on them. Ionly drove this car about 500 miles in the last year. Up until last month I hada 98 automatic Z3 also so I drove that much more often when I wanted to drive aconvertible. I have 5 other BMW’s besides this one and drive a 2013 Mazda CX9as a daily driver.
I have loved this car but as I am now over 60 have gainedweight and have a hip replacement getting in and out of it is a challenge. . .driving it is still as much fun as itever was. I also purchased a 2000 540i M Sport 6 speed car last year andrecently a 1987 Euro 735i with a 5 speed so when I get that ‘Itch” to reallydrive a car and “row” the gears I still can.
This car is not perfect. It does have some small dents and asmall parking lot “kiss” from many years ago. The rims do have some curb rash. The car was in one minor accident. I was in a turning lane at a light and awoman in a jeep decided not to turn and backed up into the front left of thecar. She claimed she never saw me!! The headlight, bumper and spoiler werereplaced. I had the hood repainted last year because I had used a car “bra” onthis car and it left some minor indentations which just drove me crazy so I hadit repaired. All electrical’s work except the trunk mounted CD changer. Theseats do show some minor ware. The car does have some of the very common onE36/37 models “leather shrinkage”. This car can be driven anywhere. If it isnot sold I might take it to Euro Fest at the Zentrum in SC. in Oct. Car islocated in the Tampa Florida area. Please email or call me if you have any questions.
