Seller Description

This 1998 BMW M Roadster comes from the model’s first year of production and has 23k miles from new. This example sports a Dinan Stage 2 chip and cold air intake replacing the stock items, but is otherwise stock. The seller is the second owner and has had the car since 2010, logging around 6k miles behind the wheel. The car is sold with a clean Carfax and clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

This M Roadster looks stock from the outside with shiny Imola Red paint and the original convertible top in very good condition. Per the seller the power top goes up and down easily and shows no seam separation or tears. Original wheels show well with minimal curb rash.

The seller notes a few minor dings and scratches present but they are hard to capture in photos. The car has been garaged for most of its life, and the paintwork appears consistent with that claim.

Black leather seats are in good condition with minimal creasing on the outer bolsters of the driver’s seat. The center portion of the steering wheel is faded. Carpets and plastics remain original. The seller has updated the stereo with an Alpine head unit and shallow kicker subs, though the original stereo equipment has been retained and will be included.

The S52 inline six has an aftermarket a cold air intake and the ECU has been upgraded with a Dinan Stage 2 tune optimized for use with the intake. The e36 M3-sourced S52 is not prone to the same rod bearing failures as the e46 M3-sourced S54 in the later cars.

The underside of the car looks clean in a number of lift shots below.

The OEM stereo equipment has been retained. It should be noted that the Carfax indicated 3 owners but the first owner moved the car from their home in New Jersey to their Florida home, which shows up as an additional owner.

The car is sold with a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name, along with a clean Carfax viewable in the gallery. Nearly 100 photos of the car can be seen below.

Looks like another nice Z3M on Bring a Trailer. The couple upgrades are nice ones. I look forward to seeing how bidding goes.
