Seller Description

This 2000 BMW M Roadster is a 60k-mile example finished in Imola Red paint with a Classic Red top over two-tone black and red leather interior. The car has spent its life in the Southwest and was driven regularly but sparingly before its acquisition seven months ago by the seller. Approximately 1,000 miles have been added since and the car was serviced in the fall of 2016 with a full fluid change, front brake work and new Continental rubber. An Autocheck report is included along with original owner’s literature and a Nevada title in the seller’s name.

The car wears a DOT-R replacement hood although no accident damage is noted on the included Autocheck report. Photos show no cracks or large scuffs in M-specific body cladding, though both bumper covers could benefit from slight fit adjustment at their driver’s side corners.

Factory staggered-width Roadstar 5-spokes show little curb damage in photos and wear new 17″ Continental ExtremeContact DW rubber installed in September 2016. Plastic covers show light pitting but little of the common hazing over clear corners and headlights, while other lenses look clean aside from a chipped front passenger-side reflector. Badging is detailed in photos and remains clear along with minimal brightwork.

This is reportedly one of just over 300 M Roadsters produced with a Classic Red power convertible top. A soft top boot is also included as is the original factory wind deflector, though a more effective aftermarket version is currently mounted between the roll hoops.

Two-tone black and red Nappa leather fits tightly on powered and heated sport seats. Wear is described as light due to comparatively low mileage aside from the wrinkling visible on a driver’s side bolster. The dash is shown to be devoid of cracks or distortion and the seller notes that the glovebox is free of sagging. Clear chrome-ringed instrumentation retains overlaid warning decals and the digital odometer reads just under 60k miles. A stock appearance is maintained with a factory CD player and triple gauges mounted in the center stack. The car is further equipped with powered mirrors and windows along with heated door locks and washer jets.

The 3.2-liter S52 twincam inline six features VANOS variable valve timing and was originally rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb. ft of torque for the US market. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and standard limited slip differential. The engine bay shows few variations from stock aside from a decal denoting a K&N air filter. The October service included a full fluid change along with replacement of the front brake pads and rotors, and the Bosch battery is two years old.

The included Autocheck report shows a steady accumulation of mileage and emissions checks. No accidents or issues are noted and no explanation is listed for the replacement hood.

Receipts are included for the recent fluid change and brake work, though no additional paper service history is available. The sale also includes the original manuals and window sticker visible in the gallery along with a factory air pump and nearly complete trunk-mounted tool kit.

It has different license plates, but I think it's the same seller as a couple months ago. It's now on BaT with bidding currently at $6,500.

The red soft top adds some uniqueness. It looks to be in very nice shape. The price is pretty optimistic for the mileage though.
