Seller Description

This 2002 BMW M Roadster is powered by a 3.2-liter S54 inline-six that has been modified with an RMS supercharger kit as well as a front-mounted intercooler, aftermarket engine software, stainless-steel headers, and a cat-back exhaust system. Further modifications are said to include refurbishing the VANOS system, installing a dual-disc clutch assembly, and adding twin-ear differential mounts. The car is finished in Imola Red over black Nappa leather and is equipped with a Harman Kardon sound system, a BMW Business AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning, and heated sport seats as well as a five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, and 17″ Style 40 wheels. The seller acquired the car in 2012 and has since added approximately 23k of the 79k indicated miles. This supercharged M Roadster is now offered with an owner’s manual, partial service records, and a duplicate California title in the name of the seller’s spouse.

This M Roadster is one of 31 examples finished in Imola Red over black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year. Features include a power-operated black convertible soft top, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with 235/40 Yokohama front tires and 315/35 Sumitomo rubber out back. The car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) as well as All-Season Traction (AST) control, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a BMW Business AM/FM/CD stereo, and a Harman Kardon sound system. The speakers are said to be fitted with replacement cones, while the glovebox and window regulators were reportedly repaired under current ownership.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline accompanied by a 170-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Auxiliary readouts for oil temperature and ambient temperature are fitted in the center stack along with a clock. The digital odometer indicates 79k miles, approximately 23k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54B32 inline-six has been modified with installation of an RMS supercharger kit, a front-mounted intercooler, aftermarket engine software, stainless-steel headers, and a cat-back exhaust system. The double-VANOS variable valve timing system has been refurbished using Beisan Systems components. The results of a September 2023 California emissions test are presented in the gallery, however, various aftermarket engine components are not CARB-compliant.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, which is installed with twin-ear mounts. A dual-disc clutch assembly is fitted, and the seller notes a clunking sound from the rear end.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and California.

We've seen this roadster listed a couple times over the years, but it sounds like it's been with the seller sine 2012. The Z3 bumper is painted now which loosk much better. It's full of upgrades, and you rarely see a supercharged S54. Bidding up to $3,500.00 so far.
