Very nice example of an S52 powered classic BMW M Roadster. Analog, fun to drive sports car that turns heads everywhere you go! These are getting harder to find in this condition. Most are either high mileage “beaters” or super low mileage and pristine. This example is a great balance. Since I’ve owned it it’s never been raced. Daily driver for about 2 years. Now only a nice weather weekend car. Garage kept. Purchased at BMW dealership approx 2016. Dealer replaced top and completed a recall on passenger side air bag. Early in my ownership I replaced water pump, belt, starter and all 4 shocks with OEM original parts from
Turner motorsports. I later upgraded to an 8 speaker JL audio system and Magnaflow mufflers. That reduced weight and it sounds awesome! 23 (as of this writing. I am still driving it on occasion so mileage will increase) miles on a fresh service where brakes were replaced all around and trunk gas struts and E-brake boot replaced with OEM parts at Southwest Bimmer (they have been servicing my car since I’ve owned it). Included with the sale are 2 NOS window motors as old ones are “tired”(maybe the tracks need cleaning..?) from Turner motorsports as well as their sub frame reinforcement kit never installed (subframe is perfect. No separation noted from trunk or below) and a steering wheel wrap kit. Factory windscreen, owners booklet and small tonneau cover for when the top is down also. Paint and rondels in good shape with normal wear for their age. Things that need attention are: clock no longer keeps accurate time (all other gauges work). Drivers mirrors linkage disconnected or broken (a friends kid was washing it for pocket money and pressed too hard wiping off the mirror. A “snapping” sound was heard and mirror no longer functions). Seat belt stay on driver side cracked and glued, small portion of drivers door leather peeling up by triangular “vent” window (has been this way since purchase with no evidence of worsening). Airbag light came on during startup 2 weeks after my last service and I called Southwest Bimmer to venture a guess as to what it could be and they said “maybe a seatbelt sensor”. Though this is only a guess. Lastly, there’s a “weep” from the power steering line. Doesn’t drip on my garage floor. Southwest Bimmer noticed it and topped off fluid. To the best of my knowledge this info is accurate. All in all a very solid car. Very reliable with many miles left in it to drive daily or on the weekend or restore. Thanks for looking!
