Seller Description

This 1999 BMW M Roadster was purchased by the seller in 2002, and it has 167k miles following registration history in Iowa, Colorado, and Georgia. The car is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Imola Red over black Nappa leather upholstery. Equipment includes silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black convertible soft top, a removable hardtop, heated sport seats, a cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted CD changer, air conditioning, and cruise control. Work performed in preparation for the sale included replacing the front control arms, tie rods, sway bar links, transmission shaft seal, oil filter housing gasket, and high-pressure oil line. This M Roadster is offered at no reserve with service records, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.

This M Roadster is one of 278 finished in Imola Red over Black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year, and it was refinished in 2013. Features include a power-operated black convertible soft top, a body-color removable hardtop, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets. The rear bumper cover has been replaced and is said to be misaligned. There is a ding on the left front fender and scratches on the underside of the front bumper cover. Paint protection film has been applied on the forward-facing surfaces, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels have curb marks and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The car is equipped with Automatic Stability Control, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The right front wheel leaks air. The front lower control arms, tie rods, and sway bar links were replaced in March 2024.

The cabin features black Nappa leather covering the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Amenities include roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, an alarm system, a BMW Business cassette stereo, and a trunk-mounted CD changer. The reverse light switch was replaced in 2024. A console light is inoperative, the windows are not watertight, a center stack button is damaged, and the factory mobile phone handset is missing.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A clock and gauges for voltage and oil temperature are housed in the center stack. The digital odometer indicates 167k miles, approximately 150k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and was factory rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. Work performed in 2024 has included changing the oil and replacing the air filter, oil filter housing gasket, and high-pressure oil line.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch, flywheel, and clutch master cylinder were replaced in November 2020. The transmission shaft seal was replaced and the transmission fluid and differential fluid were changed in January 2024.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.

Lots of miles, but it looks to be all stock. The hard top is a big plus, and it has some good maintenance. Bidding up to $750.00 so far
