This was a North Carolina car until March 2024 and garaged ever since. There is not a speck of rust on the car.
In the time that I have had it I have done a bunch of the annoying, typical maintenance including:
-radiator
-metal water pump
-valve cover gasket
-spark plugs
-tires -Bridgestone Potenza Sports
-New soft top (just needs a bit of adjusting, but all the annoying work has been done and it doesn't leak into the trunk)
-All new stock Sachs dampers (Bilsteins included, but I didn't like how harsh they were in Philly)
-Front lower control arms ("lillipops") with delrin bushings
-New battery 1/2025
-Car has classic plates that are transferrable to a new owner in PA
-All the spot welds in the trunk but one look great.
There is still some more to do to make the car perfect and the price reflects that. The wheels are a bit rough, the paint on the hood and deck lid is rough, there is some plastic bits and bobs in the interior that should be addressed that is typical in an almost 30 year old BMW like the typical glovebox sag. I am including the transmission detent pins. That is a bigger project that I was going to take on, but honestly it just is not that much of an issue. It's time for a new guibo which is included as well. The actuator for the top needs fluid and the auto locks and window regulators need a little help.
This is a fantastic "driver spec" car. I would absolutely keep it, but the car-guy restlessness is real, and I am ready to move on to the next impractical car. :)
