Rare and desirable 2001 Z3 M Roadster with the highly sought after 3.2L 333HP S54B32 engine. The exterior is finished in Black Sapphire Metallic with a black interior. Both the original paint and the leather interior show minimal signs of wear that is consistent with the mileage on the car. The car was meticulously maintained and stored in heated garage. Overall, the car needs nothing to enjoy it!
I put in a lot of time and money over the last 4 years to ensure the car is great condition, including expensive vanos service.
Only 1,564 convertibles with the S54 engine were ever produced. No mechanical issues whatsoever. Clear title in hand. Currently 54,200 miles and slowly going up as I drive it on the weekends. The car is in very good condition for its year. Vehicle has never been in snow. Everything works, the engine and transmission run smoothly. New genuine leather seat covers with custom 'M' engraved into headrest in excellent condition, no tears or blemishes whatsoever. Heated seats. AC runs cold. I'm the 3rd owner. Clean car fax, no accidents, clear and clean title in hand. The electric top works well, with brand new soft top. No issues whatsoever with the trunk welds as some of these cars may occasionally experience. I tried to capture all service that was done by me since the beginning of my ownership.
Service in 2017 at approx. 50,000 – 51,000mi:
• new soft top and window (genuine quality, $650 in parts and $400 labor)
• new genuine leather seat covers with M logo engraved
• new rear tires and brakes
• new seat bushings for both seats
• full synthetic motor oil
• upgraded shift knob
• saggy glove box fix
• All 4 wheels refinished in original shadow chrome
Service in 2018 at approx. 51,000-52,000mi:
• fuel pump replaced
• new serpentine belts, pulley and tensioner
• new transmission fluid
• new battery
Service in 2019 at approx. 52,000-53,000mi
• full synthetic motor oil
• upgraded headlights with daytime running halos (original headlights will be included)
• vanos completely rebuilt (upgraded) due to vanos codes (new solenoid pack, dr vanos oil pump disc replaced, s54 cam bolt kit installed, all vanos seals upgraded) – you will never have issues with Vanos!
• camshaft timing adjustment completed
• 3 new timing sensors (intake camshaft, exhaust camshaft and crankcase positioning)
• exhaust camshaft timing wheel replaced
• valve adjustment done
• valve cover gasket replaced
• spark plugs replaced
• MAF sensor replaced
Service in 2020 at 54,104mi:
• fuel tank cap replaced
• fuel filter replaced
• power steering lines replaced, and fluid flush
• new inner and outer tie rods
• new front sway bar end links
• alignment
• new front brake rotors, pads & sensors
• differential fluid flush replaced
• antenna grommet seal replaced
Additionally:
• Black carbon fiber emblems installed (original blue&white are also included).
• Sound system upgraded in 2018- speakers, aftermarket amp and Pioneer deck unit with hands-free Bluetooth voice and audio streaming. 1000W amp with new kicker 6.5” subwoofer installed to replace the factory units in its original locations. Sounds great!
• Leather arm rest, still have two cup holders, with one hidden underneath the arm rest.
• New front tires 235/45/17 in June 2020. Rear tires have 85% of tread left.
Some imperfections can be found due to old age of the vehicle, and common problems with this platform, as follows:
• Some scratches on body and rock chips on the hood. It’s not bad, but it is slightly noticeable from up-close. The biggest scratch is on the driver-side door, which has been touched-up
• Small tear in the front console (see picture)
• Driver-side key lock cylinder spins occasionally without engaging the lock (solution – lock/unlock at the trunk or at passenger-side door if that happens)
• Cigarette lighter adapter does not work, needs replaced.
The car is in truly great condition for being 19 years old, I often get compliments while driving around town and at car shows.
