Seller Description

This 2000 BMW M Roadster is powered by a 3.2-liter S52 inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and finished in Cosmos Black Metallic over black leather. Equipment includes a black soft top, power-adjustable and heated sport seats, a limited-slip differential, an aftermarket stereo system, and cruise control. The car was acquired  in March 2017 on BaT by the seller, who subsequently added 7k of the 69k miles it now has. Service performed by the seller included refinishing the rear wheels, fitting Bilstein dampers, recharging the air-conditioning system, and replacement of suspension bushings, master cylinder, and the positive battery cable. This E36/7 M Roadster is now offered with three keys, factory literature, a BMW-branded car cover and a top boot, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic (303) and features M-badged side vents, quadruple exhaust tips, and a black soft top said to have been replaced in 2016. Photos showing VIN-stamped stickers are provided in the gallery below. Paint chips are noted around the exterior, and staining is visible on the hood. The radio antenna is broken, and the seller states a replacement antenna and front fender M decals will be included in the sale.

Factory 17″ Style 40 RoadStar wheels wear Nexen N5000 Plus tires measuring 225/45 up front and 245/45 out back, which show 2016 and 2015 respectively. The seller states that the factory shocks were replaced with Bilstein units, the suspension bushings were replaced, and the rear wheels were refinished.

The cabin features heated sport seats upholstered in black Nappa leather, along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets protected by M-branded floor mats. Additional amenities include cruise control, air conditioning, and an aftermarket Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth-compatibility, a trunk-mounted amplifier, and subwoofer. The shift knob is an aftermarket M-branded unit, a USB port has been added in place of the cigarette lighter, and the rearview mirror has been replaced with an OEM unit without self-dimming capability. The airbag light is currently illuminated, and scratches and wear are visible on the seat bolsters, door panels, and interior plastics. The seat belt guides as well as a piece of trim on one backrest are missing, and the removed cigarette lighter is included in the sale.

The three-spoke M Sport steering wheel frames gauges including a 160-mph speedometer and an 8k-rpm tachometer, with auxiliary gauges mounted in the center stack. The odometer indicates under 69k miles, approximately 7k of which were added by the seller in the past three years.

The 3.2-liter M52 inline-six made 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque from the factory, and which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed ZF manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Records show that the air-conditioning system was recently serviced.

An owner’s manual with folio, factory literature, and three keys are included in the sale.

The July 2020 Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists registration history in Illinois, Iowa, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, and New Jersey.

As mentioned, we last saw this roadster on Bring a Trailer in 2017. This time it's available with no reserve which is pretty exciting. Bidding at $6,000 so far.
