Seller Description

THIS IS A Z3M ROADSTER!! NOT A STANDARD Z3!

Car has 92,4xx miles on it. It is on the road now, so mileage may vary slightly.

This is the 2001 Z3 M with the rare S54 high revving 8,000 RPM, 315 horsepower engine. Only available in 2001 and 2002 Z3 M's.

The car is a driver's car, not a trailer queen car. Since I've owned the car, it was scratched up and keyed by someone at a local summer fair, and needed to be repainted the same color. It looks nice, and does not look repainted, but it is not all the original paint.

I had the convertible top replaced 3 years ago. It had lasted well but after 20 years, it was due for a replacement.

It has a replacement stereo in it, however, I do have all the original parts that I have taken out including the six CD changer that was mounted in the trunk and the BMW business radio that was in the dash.

The oval shaped automatic darkening rear view interior mirror was defective when I bought it 12 years ago, so I put in a mirror from a standard BMW Z3. If you wanted to change it back to a M style mirror, the electrical connections are all there.

I also added a USB connector for a dash camera.

There are a few nicks and chips in the front lower fascia below the bumper, but I do have extra paint (if you want to touch them up annually :-). Ask for close up photos of the very small nicks and scratches in it.

I also have 6 liters of 10w60 Liqui-Moly oil and an oil filter available for your next oil change.

I also have a Windows laptop with all the BMW dealer level diagnostic tools; INPA, and all the proper connecting cables for the engine OBD and the interior OBD2 socket. If you are not totally familiar with BMWs, I also have thousands of files and links discussing how to diagnose your own issues with the unique car.

I do have a recent Carfax on the car, but will get a brand new one if the buyer would like it.

I have owned this car for 12 years and had many enjoyable hours driving it, however after a back injury and surgery, I no longer can enjoy the amount of raw power that the s54 engine puts out.

The engine has been driven quite mildly in the last 12 years, rarely driven hard and there are no signs at all of any engine bearing failure as also discussed in the BMW forums on some BMW cars. There are no oil leaks, the transmission shifts perfectly, the clutch was replaced before I bought it and is still in extremely good condition.

The car was just taken out of storage from winter STORAGE this month and inspected, so it is fully inspected through next year in July and is now on the road for test drives.

This particular car, with the powerful S54 engine, as you know, if professionally detailed, has a selling price in the $20,000 to $25,000 range with over 100,000 mi on it.

There was a. Identical car this week on an auction site with 117,000 miles on it that was bid up to $21,000 and did not sell because it did not meet the owner's reserve.

This car has its minor flaws, like the common glove box rattle that is easily repairable, as described in the BMW forums on the web, and one left door speaker not working (could be a loose wire).

I am willing to be realistic and sell this for $17,500 . I am retired and getting in and out of the car was getting difficult before the back problem.

There were only about 1400 built, so you don't see them often, and the asking prices are getting out of sight.

Pick it up and drive it home, whether across town or across the country. It is very dependable.

This car needs NOTHING.

Thanks for looking

It appears to be a no reserve auction at $17,500 which is a pretty good deal.It looks to be mostly stock besides painted brake calipers and a LeatherZ armrest.
