Seller Description

This 1998 BMW M Roadster was acquired by the seller in 2012 and was modified before it was transferred to a family member in 2013, and it now has 78k miles. The 3.2-liter S52 inline-six has been fitted with a Vortech V3 supercharger along with an aftermarket ECU, an E36-specification oil cooler, and Billy Boat rear exhaust components. Finished in Estoril Blue over black Nappa leather, the car is also equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels, Bilstein HD dampers, a black convertible top, heated sport seats, an alarm system, a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo head unit, aftermarket audio components, air conditioning, and cruise control. This M Roadster is now offered at no reserve in Colorado by the seller on behalf of the owners with a window sticker, service records, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title in the current owners’ names.

This M Roadster is one of 79 examples finished in Estoril Blue over black Nappa leather for the North American market for the model year. Features include a black convertible soft top, front fender vents, aftermarket front splitter extensions, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller states that the convertible top has been converted for manual operation. The antenna grommet is missing, Scratches are present on the lower portion of the front bumper cover, and imperfections are visible on the hood and trunk roundels.

Silver-finished 17″ Style 40 wheels are mounted with 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that show 2011 and 2012 production codes. Bilstein HD dampers have been installed, and braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. Curb rash is visible on the left-front wheel.

Black Nappa leather covers the heated sport seats, door panel inserts, and center console. Additional interior appointments include roll hoops, air conditioning, cruise control, an alarm system, a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo head unit, a trunk-mounted Rockford Fosgate amplifier, and Bavarian Soundwerks speakers. Wear is visible on the outer driver-seat bolster, the cargo net and a blanking plate on the right side of the center console are missing, loose upholstery is present on the center armrest, and the seller states that the left door panel is loose.

The M-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel features tri-color stitching and frames a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 78k miles, approximately 3,400 of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six features VANOS variable valve timing and has been modified with a Vortech V3 supercharger, a MegaSquirt MS3 ECU, and an E36-specification oil cooler. A tune was completed in October 2023 by MoFab LLC of Parker, Colorado.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Billy Boat stainless-steel rear exhaust components have been installed, and additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery below.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Chris Motors Corporation in Decatur, Georgia, along with colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $43,155. Partial service records are included in the sale.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Georgia and Colorado.

It looks to have picked up a supercharger and an exhaust since we last saw it over 10 years ago. It only has 8k new miles in that time. It appears to have lived mostly in Georgia but is now here in Colorado. The LeatherZ armrest looks like it got wet at some point or something. Everything else looks mostly alright. Bidding up to $4,000.00 so far.
