This Imola Red 1998 BMW M Roadster has 23,735 miles and was purchased by the seller via BaT Auctions in April, 2016. Driven less than 1k miles since, the seller has sourced a hard top which has been painted to match, and new tires and seat bushings have also been fitted. The 3.2 liter S52 inline-six has been modified with a Dinan Stage 2 ECU tune and cold air intake and the stereo features an Alpine head-unit and JL Audio amplifier with an extra trunk-mounted subwoofer. This M Roadster is now offered with service records from the seller’s ownership, an accident-free Carfax report, the original radio, and a clean North Carolina title.
A silver-painted hard top was sourced by the seller and professionally painted in the same Imola red as the body. It provides the car with year-round usability, though the seller states the fit would benefit from a slight adjustment.
The paint itself appears to be in nice shape throughout. A few chips and a quarter-sized blemish with accompanying spidering is present on the front bumper as shown in the photo gallery below. The left-rear shock is noted to seep while the factory alloy wheels are wrapped in near-new Firestone tires.
The black leather interior is stock aside from the Alpine head-unit while the OEM unit is included with the sale. The seller has replaced seat bushings for the driver and passenger sides while the driver’s seat belt guide is broken but still usable. The passenger’s seat belt guide was recently replaced by the seller and a small crack near the A/C button is reportedly present. The center of the steering wheel is also faded per the seller.
The 3.2 liter S52 inline-six is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and further benefits from a Dinan Stage 2 ECU tune and cold air intake system. Within the past year an engine oil change and brake fluid flush have been performed.
A Carfax report run in March 2016 shows no accidents with ownership in New Jersey, Florida, and Indiana. Four service records are also displayed.
